It is basically shaded or graduated in tone: said of a color. It’s a super hot trend going on right now, you might have seen it in fashion and hair, but it’s making way into design and weddings as well! Super whimsy and easy to create, I hope that my downloads that I designed below suit your next event just perfectly. Have I told you how much fun my job is? It’s sessions like these that I leave with a smile on my face! Savannah and Robert were filled with laughter, joy and spontaneity! I visited their 52 acre land which was the perfect portrayal of the Florida country landscape. Savannah and Robert wanted to capture what they enjoyed, 4 Wheeling, playing with their pup and embracing the big southern skies. Savannah’s younger sister and maid of honor Kate, was adorable and jumped into the photos towards the end of our session to have a muddy crazy sister fun, how pretty are they? Who knew playing in the mud could look stylish and cute at the same time? Congrats you two! Cowboy up! Enjoy!

2012 So far…

Well January has been just speeding by, it’s crazy how fast the days and months seem to fly away! I have been fortunate to book new 2012 brides so far and I’m super duper excited to photograph and capture their big day! I’ve been thankfully staying busy, working hard and always squeezing in quality time with my amazing girlfriends for a break or a two (we all need to have some fun)! Recently my Etsy ceremony fabric streamers have been featured on Southern Weddings Magazine, where you can enter for a giveaway here. Please be sure to tell your girlfriends about it or check out my shop where you can find my new hair adornments, invitations and more! I want to thank all of you who constantly make me smile and feel extremely blessed for what I love to do, I have some new and exciting projects coming up and cannot wait to share, so stay tuned! 2012 has been really exciting so far, why? I’ve met a few new Andi Mans Photography & Design Brides! I always look forward to meeting a couple for their engagement shoot, it gives me a feel for their personalities and how they interact with each other. CJ is a friend of mine who contacted me first thing in the beginning of the new year to ask me if I wanted to photograph his beach-side St.Petersburg wedding in April (Yes! Cannot wait). CJ’s fiance Nija is gorgeous and seeing them together was not only adorable but so much fun to shoot. I look forward to capturing their big day in April and I hope you enjoy this sweet couple as much as I did! Happy Monday friends!

Hello Hello! I am so very excited to launch my line of handmade Andi Mans Bridal Adornments. I’ve been busy creating these and have wanted so badly to launch them! My line is inspired from whimsy dreams to a touch of vintage flare..with a love of goose feathers! Each of my unique adornments are made with a ton of love and are very comfortable and light. I had such a fun time on this shoot with my gorgeous models who portrayed my adornments in a chic and elegant style. Baby Morgan was such a joy to photograph! She wouldn’t stop wiggling and moving her cute little legs and feet. I love seeing and capturing the joy of a newborn baby, the expressions of mommy and daddy and the big glowing smiles! Branding Tips+Photography=Experience

So the New Year has begun, you have photographed enough family and friends that you are ready to start getting serious with your photography business venture! You have built your name and your portfolio so it’s time to play with the big boys. Awesome, I like to hear that. As much as you would like to continue giving away free sessions to your friends+family, time is money and this is a business. This is a service you are offering and you have to put value and time in consideration. I know that I need 8 hours of sleep, ok maybe “beauty sleep” but let’s get serious, editing is clockwork, burning files to disc, packaging, post office runs, etc. Great customer service is very important and it will show. Never act like you’re too busy for an inquiring client. Treat them just like you would treat your closest friends. So many of my clients have actually become close amigos and being open about your way of business will result in honesty, quality and amazing work. Practice definitely makes perfect and you will know when you are ready to move forward into the professional photography world. After being in the graphic design and branding world for about 6 years prior to my self made business jump, I learned essential ways on branding my clients from the ground up. Let me share with you 4 tips on launching your photography business and image.

1. Find your niche
Lets see, do you adore weddings and love the excitement of love stories, brides, fancy decor and capturing those amazing expressions? Weddings may be perfect for you! Do weddings make you nervous and overwhelmed, would you rather stick to families and the little ones? Family portraits may be your match. Whatever you choose, specialize in a specific group of photography, this will help define your style (what is my style?? You may ask, patience) and will also reflect to your potential clients who you are and what you enjoy capturing naturally.

2. Style
Time Time Time… this takes time. It doesn’t happen over night, you must continue practicing. A good way to think about it is; remember when you were a kid? Your mom would dress you up in unflattering and non-stylish clothing? I do! Ugh! Well, as I grew older and had my own opinion and sharpened my shopping skills… I finally found my own style, something to wear that represents me and my personality. Your photography style is the same concept. As you continue to grow and encounter new sessions, the way you capture families or brides in a frame, composition, lighting and more will determine your “style”. Please do not rely on editing as your “style”, all post processing should be minimal and just applied with the basics like: color correction, shadows, contrast and maybe a few skin smoothing here and there. Voila!

3. Logo
Yes, it’s time to pick a graphic designer (like myself) and get your brand going. Owning and running my very own branding business for 4 years prior to Andi Mans Photography & Design, I molded many small to large business’s creating the “look” they wanted to achieve in representing their company. It’s a fun process and I thoroughly enjoy seeing a business grow from being inspired with an idea to having a face to show! When searching for a logo that represents you, think of color palettes you may like, are you Edgy? Boho? Simple? Choose fonts and graphics that won’t bore you within 5 minutes. It’s very important to stay consistent with your branding, being memorable and unique is key.

4. Website+Blog+Social Networks…Oh My!
Now that you have your branding all set, business cards made, logo created and goals in line, here comes the INTERNET! You are probably overwhelmed with which is more important, but let’s start with a home on the web. A blog or website is your definition of a “go to” destination, for potential clients to check out your work and get to know the real you. You want viewers to fall in love with you! Social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest are so very important and they sure do work! Get to blogging or posting on your Facebook wall weekly, keep your audience intrigued and coming back for more. Stay personal yet professional, update!

Let’s get to work! I completely love my job and what I do. Having a background experience in the music industry and the branding world, has definitely molded me for photography & design business today. I want my clients to love me for my style, quality and full honesty that I put into each and every project. Give yourself value, you’ve earned it! Try signing up for a photography workshop, these will help you learn about your camera body functions, how to use correct lighting, ISO, exposure and more.

merry christmas.happy holidays & happy new year 2012!

My heart is thankful and appreciative. What a year it’s been. I look back on this year with nothing but gratitude. I’m thankful for all the amazing families I have met, the friendships grown, the opportunities, the unexpected blessings. My heart is full, just knowing that the Lord is faithful. Truly felt. It’s in those hardest moments that He shows up…and even provides hope, strength, and abundance.

I thank you for all of your support and love you continue to show me personally and via the internet. I hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas and are gearing up for the New Year of 2012. I can’t wait to share and start 2012 with you! I’m looking forward to the new and exciting projects I will be launching! I am ever so thankful to share them through a job that is so fun! Andrew, Ashley and their first little one and cutie Cole are such a sweet family. I enjoyed meeting them in New Smyrna beach on a day that was just perfect for weather. Andrew is a surfer, so I thought it would be great to head over to the beach as well (which was just a block away) and take some shots with the family. Doesn’t Ashley resemble Carrie Underwood?! She is gorgeous! Enjoy little Cole’s sweet giggles and joyful emotions.

Rise and Shine friends…here’s a little Tuesday indulgence for you to enjoy! This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing The Roberts Family and boy did I have a blast! This session theme was all about the New years and appropriate because 2012 is just around the corner! Did I mention how precious Elise and Karlin are? I took their family session about 6 months ago and I just love seeing the little ones grow, too fast! Elise is such a happy little girl, constantly smiling.
