What a lovely collaboration with so many amazing wedding professionals! I had been chatting with Amber and Nicole for a while on the idea of styling and capturing a shoot together and I was so very excited to do so once we set a date! What’s cool about this collab, all the vendors are spread around from Orlando, St.Augustine, Jacksonville to Savannah! Florida meets Georgia eh? I was completely swooning over the loveliness of details and take a look at the adorable treats and stunning floral! Summer Happenings!

As I write this, Miss Andrea the Tropical Storm is passing through and it literally hasn’t stopped raining for hours! Yippee (sarcasm). Days like this, I usually edit, re-organizing my office and take some breathing time to sip delicious hot tea. Summer has been such a blessing so far, I have spent some good time at the beach, had 3 weddings on the west coast of Florida and on my east side, I also got a new do! Still getting used to bangs again, my hair stylist swore I should do it, so I did, eeek, what do ya think? I also attended an awesome bridal show hosted by the sweet gals of Sweet Pea Events at UCF, met a lot of new brides and spent time with my local industry pals.

Why hello there! This session is with one of my soon to be brides that I will be capturing this year, she wanted to surprise her fiancé with some boudoir shots. I’ve always believed you can keep images feminine and classy without revealing too much, and we did just that! I headed out to New Smyrna beach to Kayla’s private family residence near the causeway on a cool overcast morning. It worked out great for our soft yet artistic session, take a look at my personal favorites!

Wedding: Barrington Hill Farm Lola + Stephen

I have to say that this was one of the most unique weddings I have captured thus far, all for amazing things of course! I met with Lola and Stephen for coffee a few weeks ago as they were visiting Orlando, both are from Canada and I completely clicked with how genuine and special these two were together! As always, I ask how my bride and groom met, I love hearing love stories (hopeless romantic)! So, how did they cross paths? Both of these two lovebirds were late on a flight, the same flight…and sat next to each-other, I mean…how much of a an awesome story is that?! Let’s talk wedding! Despite the Florida rain showers that were arriving from the west coast, we didn’t let it effect our moods, I also felt it made the wedding even extra special. Lola wanted a southern wedding with her unique charm and love for Southern Weddings Magazine type details. Stephen, who works in the television industry, wanted to add his touch and personality for little monsters, quirky decor and cinematic retro movie scores. If I had to describe this wedding, it would be the South meets Tim Burton! The reception was filled with music playing from ET, Disney, circus style popcorn and a pretty intense imported pickle station! Lola created the programs and many other of the illustrations! Overall, I loved the DIY inspirations that was infused in this wedding. Lola and Stephen were a joy to meet and what a fun time, I laughed so much! One of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotes was read as they began the vows, ‘We’re all a little weird. And life is weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”

In my closet: What I wear to 3 different types of Weddings

As a photographer and a fashion freak, I’m constantly looking to wear the most comfortable shoes, stretchy pants ( I’m literally rolling all over the place to get THE shot) hair up in a pony tail or sock bun when I’m on the job. Every now and then, I actually can attend a wedding (I love being a guest, yummy food, tears of joy and crazy dancing *score!*). Along with attending different weddings, there’s different trends. Each bride has their own style and I like to play off that when deciding what to wear! Breann and Duran I met about a year ago, when they were visiting Florida for some vacation time and to take their engagements with me! They are such a lovely couple, not Floridians but all the way from North Dakota! I love my out of state brides, it’s fun to learn about their love story, how they found me and it just makes it extra special. The intimate wedding took place in beautiful St.Petersburg beach, accompanied by the warm beautiful sunset. Many joyful tears were made and lots of laughter. I had a complete blast capturing these two love birds, have a look at some of my personal favorites!

These two are just precious! I had Aliny and Sean last year to take their engagement session and had an amazing time getting to know them! Aliny is from Brazil and Sean from Orlando, the two met a few years ago and have been inseparable since! I loved the beautiful Catholic mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, stunning wood finished ceilings and gorgeous ambiance. All of Aliny’s bridesmaids wore pops of color, different hues of yellow and did you see her bouquet?! Wow, it was huge and a stunning arrangement of orchids! I had a blast at my first Brazilian wedding! Enjoy!

Erin and Nick are one of those couples you just constantly smile at! They both had the cutest story of meeting and fit perfectly together! I didn’t get to meet the couple prior to the wedding due to the fact that they live in Ohio, but day of wedding, I knew right away they were absolute sweethearts! The reception was filled with twinkled candle light, hilarious Polaroid kid photos of the bride and groom decorated the tables and hilarious toasts. I also have to add, Erin and Nick’s “first look” was priceless..check out those precious emotions! Enjoy!

I’m super excited to be a part of this couple’s wedding! I’m working aside with the lovely Brandee Gaar of Blush, so I know it’s going to be fabulous. I met with Kaysea and Paul at a local Ranch, filled with tons of hay, adorable horses boarding and tons of laughter. So, I have to say I was SO happy to snag these two! You have to hear how they got engaged! Naomi was walking with Freddie at the mall having no clue what was about to take place. Freddie surprised Naomi with a flash mob proposal! How adorable is that? Rather me try to explain, head over to youtube and watch it! I cannot wait to capture their wedding this year, with a proposal like that, I know the wedding is going to be a blast!

What a fun couple! I met with newly engaged Amber and wedding planner Megan of Sweet Pea Events a few weeks ago, and we clicked instantly! I was thrilled to hear she wanted me as her photographer to capture her November wedding at a private family ranch! I met with Amber and Billy at the venue location to capture the two and I was greeted by the most hilarious goose named “Godfrey” that wouldn’t stop “chatting” with us! It was literally a pet, haha! The cows came out to say hello as well! Had such a blast and I cannot wait to capture their wedding! Enjoy!

Design: A Lovely Soiree

I’ve recently fallen in love with Chalk boards, I know they have been around for quite some time in trendy weddings, but thanks to Chalk Shop, my obsession has as grown! Many of us don’t realize how many pieces in our own homes can be transformed into a nice little piece for a celebration or event for quests. I turned my glass wine table into a cute little corner with greens and blush roses that I purchased at the local farmer’s market. You can take any tall standing table and whip up a cute coffee or tea station, it’s sure to add some style! I’m a huge fan of simplicity with pops of soft color, in this case, a soft peach/pink. Hope you had a fabulous weekend and bundled up, Florida was bone chilling cold… brrr. Happy Monday!

2013 has been one heck of an awesome year so far! I had the chance to recently meet Breann and Duran finally! Breann booked me as her wedding photographer for their beach wedding this year in St.Pete, I am so excited for it! Both of them traveled from North Dakota, so they are from out of state but absolutely enjoy the warmth of Florida so decided to have their engagement and wedding here! I literally laughed because these two were so EASY to capture, I kept telling them they were “secret models” and didn’t tell me because they just worked so well together, guess that’s what love is all about! We needed some extra time to wait for the sun to cool down, so we all got to do a quick wine tasting inside…love hanging out with my couples! Did I mention, I swoon over this location’s vineyard and big spaces, yup…and it’s in Florida!

I completely love the scent of beautiful fresh flowers, anytime, any-day! My friend and amazing florist Jennifer Aquilia, is right around the corner to be opening her floral boutique in Winter Park, Florida at the East End Market. Her floral work is absolutely my favorite, super unique, sustainable floral that is all grown locally. Whether you need her talent for a wedding, event or just because…you are sure to find what your sweet little heart wants. Not only did I design Freshly Picked Flowers logo, I am working on their new website which will be launching soon and just captured this sweet lil video (end of post) of Jennifer from our mini-session! Personal: My Office

I’ve recently re-designed my office space and gosh does it feel much more comfy! I decided to go with neutrals, grays and just a pop of color here and there. A lot of my hours during the day are taken at my desk, lots of editing, browsing through inspiration online and social networking like a mad woman. It’s very important to have an atmosphere where you can be calm, organized but at the same time stylish. Some of my decor can be found at Target, Homegoods and Pottery Barn, but most of all thrift stores. I recently found an awesome coffee table for only $10 (whoo-hoo)!! I cleansed it down, sand-papered it, painted and voila, it’s now in my living room! Goes to show you really can make your very own furniture without spending tons of mula, I’m all about bargains!
