Soo…my very first fashion post! Yay! I’ve been wanting to get on the fashion posts for a while now and I’m so excited to bring you some of my favorite pieces and outfits everyday Friday! I particularly picked this outfit as my first because I love that it screams “happy and feminine”! Usually orange can be a tricky color to mix with, and being so bright even more so. I love the simplicity of this orange flare skirt! It’s perfect for a bridal meeting, or an early dinner with the gals. Living in Florida wearing color is a must, I remember while a visit in San Fransisco a year ago, I wore pretty much a neon green top…let’s just say everyone looked at me like I was a glowing alien as black was the popular choice! That being said, I do believe living in the South colors are a go to for Spring 2014! Happy Friday dolls!
Oh my word! I am so excited to share this post with you, not only is it swooning of gorg details and style, it’s from my very first workshop I got to host with the amazing Brandee from Blush by Brandee Gaar and guest speaker Michelle from BeatCreative (eeep, happy dance)! I have been dreaming about gathering a group of talented and inspiring ladies together for a workshop for quite a while now. As months passed, God spoke to me and told me to go for it! After a few awesome coffee dates with Brandee, serious note taking and our focus, we went for it and “Snap and Flutter” was created! I have a huge love for meeting, chatting and learning all about local wedding photographers and even more, educating + sharing thoughts and ideas. We have all started at some point regarding our business, with questions, fears, motivation and branding…what better to discuss all of this amongst our “sisters of the creative world” at a cozy brunch, greeted with mimosas, decadent pastries, tea time goodness! I had a complete blast meeting all of the attendees, and learning about your journey! After our workshop, we all took a step outside to capture a styled shoot where we were lead by Rev. Glynn of Sensational Ceremonies to recreate a ceremony with our model bride and groom. I could go on and on, but my excitement would leave you reading pages and pages. I want to send a HUGE thank you to all the vendors involved in making this workshop a dream come true. We cannot wait for the next one, date to be announced soon! For now, please “like” our Facebook page and enjoy the coverage below!
Oh boy! One thing I’m obsessed with, is any type of appetizer that is sweet and salty! These light delish bites are perfect for hosting a small celebration or really at anytime! It’s SO easy to make, literally! I added a little twist to the traditional goat cheese with a hint of herbal taste. This recipe calls for a pretty decent amount, if you want less, cut everything in half portion for prep. See below, and enjoy!
(4 oz) goat cheese ( your choice ) I bought ILE DE FRANCE, Chevre w/ garlic & herbs
3 oz. Abraham Air Dried Prosciutto, sliced thin ( you can get any type you like )
10 oz. whole pitted dates
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp. of finely chopped fresh basil leaves
In a small bowl, mix together the cheese and basil and season with salt and pepper, to taste. Open dates; insert cheese mixture into each date. To do this, I take a sandwich bag and place the goat cheese filling inside, cut a small opening at the end to make my “insert bag”. Wrap each date with 1 prosciutto piece; place dates on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a nonstick cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes. Serve immediately and enjoy!
I loved capturing Erica and Matt’s wedding at the Winter Park Racquet club. Morning brought a few strong showers but by the afternoon it cleared up to be just beautiful! One thing with Florida weddings, you must be prepared for anything, weather wise! Erica’s dress by Oscar de la Renta is just stunning, I also love the groom’s suit by Hugo Boss as well! These two stylish and beautiful couple were a joy to follow around on their special day, enjoy some of my personal favorites and congrats again!
I am so excited to share this styled shoot with you! I had been wanting to capture + style a bridesmaids only shoot for a while now, being in the midst of wedding season, I thought it would be pretty cool to incorporate the gals only this time around. Not only did I capture, but I got to style it, along with the tabelscape and decor! I want to thank all the amazing vendors who were part of such a beautiful and inspiring day at this stunning location. Doesn’t it feel so airy and magical? Enjoy some lovely eye candy, and I hope it inspires you as much as it inspired me!
These two cuties drove up from South Florida to Laura’s rustic family farm residence in Mims, Florida. I love the open skies and gosh…baby goats! If you know me, I’m an animal freak, seriously…I could work at a zoo and be happy looking at animals all day, ha! So cute! I cannot wait to capture their big day in Orlando this year, it’s going to be a blast! Enjoy some of my favorites!
Elise and Anthony were such a sweet couple to get to know! This adorable blended family shared tons of sweet words, personal vows and an adorable family circle of coming together during the ceremony for a blessing. Elise contributed a lot of the style and decor herself, the bouquet was stunning with bursts of color making this farm wedding completely Spring forward in happiness! Enjoy the personal details captured on this precious + intimate wedding with close family and friends.
This wedding was so much fun! Everyone from the bride + groom, to the super out going bridal party…what awesome personalities! Did I mention how I’m loving the weather this Spring? Gosh, it’s gorgeous and makes for beautiful portraits against the green landscapes of Florida. Emory and Jon are high school sweethearts, both attended Trinity Prep, where they first met! I seriously had a blast capturing their big day, take a look at some of my favorites!
Loved meeting these two for the first time last year, we chatted about their big day, details, how they met and more! Logan has the coolest, laid back personality ever! This bride and groom were filled with tons of laughter! What a fun group, please take a look at some of my personal favorites from their special day! Congrats again!
These two cuties were a joy to capture! I love their love story and how they met! I cannot wait to cover their big day shared with family and friends.
How did they meet? We are yet another Match.com success story! After years of not quite finding the right one, each of us set out to broaden our horizons on the world wide web. We met some friends and had a great time along the way, but found something intriguing in each other. A spontaneous lunch break at work led us to meet over sushi (after all, we’re Asian!), and from that moment on we were always together. Despite many odds, everything has turned out to be fun and easy. We shared a common love of San Francisco, and a trip last October became one we’ll never forget as Tommy proposed in beautiful Sonoma, California. We’re excited to share our big day with our children, family and friends. Thanks Andi for making what felt super awkward turn out to be very beautiful. What a talent!
Marie and Joshua were such a sweet couple to capture! We had the most beautiful weather, Spring sure is just around the corner! The two love birds traveled from Virginia, where they both reside now, but have family all over from Orlando to New Jersey. It was intimate, sweet and fun! Isn’t Marie just so pretty? Congrats to this amazing couple, take a look at some of my favorites!
I had a beautiful weekend in downtown St. Augustine meeting with this adorable couple Fio and Colin! I’m so excited to capture their wedding this year in St. Augustine, it’s going to be gorgeous!
How did they meet? Colin and I met in our first semester of law school. We were in all the same classes and had all the same friends. We started dating after a few months, but it wasn’t until later that I found out that Colin had his eye on me from day one! When classes first began, we received seating charts with names and pictures. I apparently caught Colin’s attention immediately and he started texting one of my good friends, trying to find out more about me. Ria, who is now my maid of honor, helped set the two of us up and the rest is history!
This engagement session, seriously…I’m in love with it! Leanne and Zack were a perfect picture of a 1940′s romantic era. Filled with the all the classic attire at an antique train museum, I just adore the sweetness of these two! I cannot wait to capture their vintage inspired wedding this year! Swoon over these.
How did they meet? Zack and I met in middle school. I moved to Cape Coral from Wisconsin in 8th grade and he lived a few blocks away. We both got our first jobs at Target and I would give him rides home from high school or work every now and again. There was interest between us then, even a kiss on the cheek (I know, scandalous!) but nothing came of it. He had a “crush” on me during high school, but girls weren’t his main focus. Mostly building cars, skateboarding and other shenanigans. So, life flew by and fast forward a few years I had moved from Cape Coral to Saint Petersburg to go to College. I was just finishing up my internship at Bayfront and I was online one night (probably procrastinating school work) and happened to find him on Facebook via a friend. We started messaging back and forth and even talked on the phone until ungodly hours of the night. We had a lot of catching up to do! He had planned to come up to visit me when I was offered a job back home (Luckily because I was ready to head out to Colorado and be a gypsy! I moved back to Cape Coral the first week of December and he took me on our first official date December 16th. As he was dropping me off at my parents house, we were saying our awkward first date goodbyes…he came in and had dinner with my family. They loved him immediately, or shortly after there was talk of hockey and golf. We were quite literally inseparable ever since. He proposed in our kitchen – just as my father had done with my mom. As we were eating dessert we got from a restaurant downtown it reviled this lovely message and he got down on one knee. The ring is a family heirloom that he had been passed down to me from my great grandmother who wore it everyday for 65 years. It was bought during WWII and has a European Cut diamond that I am told is a style no longer made. We have quite a few sentimental pieces in our wedding including earrings, cufflinks, bow ties and wedding rings!
Oh how I love mixing up some tasty, healthy cold salads! This super easy recipe is perfect for a mid-day snack, side dish or for your next get together. Refreshing and low in calories, it sure is a guilt-free deliciousness! Enjoy!
1 cucumber ( quarter sliced )
2 cans of garbanzo/chick peas
1/2 cup of feta cheese ( I like Vigo )
1/2 cup diced red onion
salt & pepper to taste
1 tbsp. of apple cider vineger
Refrigerate for about an hour to let the flavors marinate and serve!
This was such a beautiful wedding! Just outside of Jackvoniell, you will find an adorable open space of a venue called “The Keeler Property”. I loved all the tall pine trees and bridge over water. Dale and Megan were a beautiful couple and their wedding had such sweet details. Please take a look at my favorites!
I was so excited to take these maternity photos of Carmen and Brian! I had the pleasure of capturing their beautiful wedding just about 2 years ago, boy does time fly! Now, the sweeties are expecting their first! This is such a gorgeous couple inside and out! Thank you to Alicia from Flawless Faces and Ashley for the beautiful hair and makeup! Here are some of my favorites!
These two were so much fun to capture! The lovebirds both are entertainers/actors at Universal Studios, and you can tell by their big smiles and fun expressions! I cannot wait to cover the big day, it’s going to be a blast! It was a chilly morning ( 39 degrees to be exact, brrr) as we met up to take the engagement, but we had a lil break of coffee and hot chocolate to warm us up, and boy did it help!
How did they meet? Joshian and Kayla met at Valencia Community College in 2008 and quickly became friends during a theatrical production they were both cast in. They were close friends for over a year and then started dating! Joshian and Kayla transferred into the BFA Musial Theatre program at the University of Central Florida. Now graduated, they both are employed by the Orlando theme parks; Joshian sings and swims with the funny fish in Finding Nemo the Musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Kayla is a Gryffindor Prefect Universal Studio’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter where she conducts the Frog Choir! Christmas morning 2012, Joshian gave Kayla the best Christmas present ever when he proposed! Having been together almost five years, they both love traveling, watching movies, eating Chipotle and the series “Friends!”
Howdy! I have become obsessed with the lovely green and healthy Kale! Filled with tons of antioxidants, raw kale can enhance any smoothie by adding an impressive 206% of the daily requirement of vitamin A, 134% of vitamin C, and 684% of vitamin K! Wow, so now you can understand the benefits of adding this sweet lil green to any of your recipes at home. Before I start my day, I always whip up a smoothie and this particular one is my favorite. Not only is it tasty, it’s great for you too, filled with protein and high on the nutrient profile! Enjoy!
1 cup of washed and chopped kale
1 cup of frozen or fresh peaches sliced
1 oikos greek yogurt (peach flavor)
2 scoops of muscle milk (or whatever protein you like)
1 cup of ice
1/2 cup of petit nectar “durazno” peach juice
2 sliced kiwis
