Did somebody say flowers?! YES! During the summer, it’s always a nice time to catch up and attend some industry events that are being held locally, to mingle and meet new people. Last night, I was anxious to take a look at the beautiful floral arrangements at Flower No.5′s studio! Owners, Bobby and Tom did an amazing job at hosting a fabulous event. I even had the experience of stepping into a flower cooler, yup, it was cold..brrr! Ha! Industry professionals attended and some familar faces from photographers, planners and more. These guys really know what they are doing, if you are looking for something unique+gorgeous or even have an idea in mind, their imagination can create it. Make sure to check out the website and “like” on facebook! Here are some photos below!
Marie Claire Magazine has been touring around booming cities with the amazing entrepreneur, turned mega million dollar e-commerce company Gilt Group, now book author Alexis Maybank! Woo, that was a lot to say! Ruth’s Chris presented this speaker series right here in beautiful Winter Park! I love being surrounded by young professional like minded women that all have a definite in common, together to achieve our ultimate goals and strengths within our business. We mingled, saw my friends at Sophie and Trey and amongst others! We networked and enjoyed exquisite appetizers + delicious bubbly champagne by sponsor Veuve Clicquot. I left the event inspired to move even stronger forward in all my ideas and aspirations in growing my business. Alexis and the Marie Claire team were spot on with words of “flexibility” and perseverance, putting on an amazing series of how ideas can turn into success stories! Here are some shots from the fun I had! #ruthschriswomen

Cake Pop Supplies:
Vanilla Food Cake Mix {and ingredients listed on box}
1/2 Cup of Cream cheese frosting
2 tbsp. Cup Dulce De Leche {Nestle}
White Chocolate Candy Melts {2 bags from Michael’s}
Candy sticks {from Michael’s}
Styrofoam
Gel Food Coloring Blue {NOT liquid}
Foil
Vegetable Oil Spray
Shortening {large spoon full}
Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Line a large cake pan with non-stick spray.
- Follow the recipe on your cake mix and bake your cake as directed. Allow the cake to cool at room temp.
- Put your baked cake in a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to crumble the entire cake. Add about 1/2 of the package of cream cheese and 1/2 cup of dulce de leche frosting to the crumbled cake (watch for consistency).
Use your hands to mix the frosting evenly throughout the crumbled cake mix until the cake mix is well moistened. Your cake mix should be moist enough to shape into a large mound and keep its shape.
- Roll your cake mix into 1 inch balls using the palms of your hands. You should be able to get 35-40 cake balls from a single batch of cake mix. To keep your cake pops from falling off the stick when you try to cover them in icing! After you shape the cake into little balls, put them in the freezer for about 10 minutes so they are super chilled. Then continue with the recipe. They will be “more solid” and therefor hold onto the stick better.
- Pour one entire package of white chocolate candy melts into a microwave safe bowl. Follow the melting instructions on the package. Pull out your melted white chocolate and stir thoroughly with a spoon until totally
smooth. Once smooth, add a large spoon full of shortening {Crisco} to the white chocolate to thin out the consistency a bit. Stir thoroughly again.
- Take a cake pop stick and dip into the white chocolate about 1 inch. And then place it into the center of your cake ball. Then place your cake pop in the Styrofoam to harden.
- Continue with the remaining cake pops.
- Now coat the balls with the candy coating. The key is to place the pop in the chocolate at a sideways angle with one hand. Using the other hand, spoon the chocolate mixture all around the pop. Try to do this
as quickly as possible before the chocolate begins to harden and get lumpy. Once you have evenly coated the pop, gently tap the stick on the side of the bowl to get off any excess chocolate that would drip.
- Use the remainder of your white chocolate for the drizzle. If you run out, make more following the steps above. Add the GEL food coloring of your choice until you receive your desired color.
- Now let your cake pops dry and then you are done! Refrigerate until ready to devour!
I love bright happy flowers, especially wedding bouquets. I felt especially inspired by the Spring weather that has arrived and blooming flowers! This wedding bouquet is perfect for an organic “green” bride, an outdoor wedding with a rustic feel yet still maintaining the femininity. Some of the flowers used, Roses, Carnations, Daises and a few other floral fillers. Hope this inspires you and if you are interested in a custom made bouquet designed for your big day, let’s chat about it!

I’m super excited to share this product session with you! I was contacted through a mutual friend about adorable+handmade baby blankets and pillows all designed by the super talented Kelly! Some of the fabrics are 100% cotton and others 100% organic!” La Coperta” is Italian for blanket. The etc. was added to include the pillows and any further product additions in the future. Each blanket and pillow appropriately denote the look of la coperta, etc.. 9 panel quilt fronts, flannel borders and different backs with grosgrain and satin ribbon binding cement the style of la coperta, etc. The pillows, fully quilted in random patterns also helped to anchor the final look of la coperta, etc.’s image. With each blanket and pillow in different colors, different embroidered panels and beautiful fabrics, Kelly also recognized that her dreams, hopes and blessings were sewn in to each blanket and pillow. The official website will be launched in a few days, but for the mean time please “like her facebook page, follow her on twitter and bookmark the official website + order at the Etsy shop! These are THE perfect and unique gift! Check out the sneak peek!
